ARVADA – The Colorado Health Care Association, the largest coalition of nursing homes and assisted living residences in the state, announced in September that Jamie Chapa, the life enrichment director of Arbor View Senior Living, has been named Colorado’s 2026 Life Enrichment Director of the Year. The award was announced at the CHCA’s annual “Spotlight on Excellence” event in Denver on Sept. 24.
“Jamie is a big asset to our community,” said Nikki Overby, executive director for Arbor View Senior Living.“ She not only plans and delivers engaging programs and activities for residents but she also serves as an advocate, emotional anchor and social architect for them.”
Chapa’s interest in long-term care was piqued in high school and grew into a career that now spans more than three decades, including more than 20 years at Arbor View Senior Living. Jamie began her industry tenure in skilled nursing, where she worked as an activities assistant before being promoted to the life enrichment director of the independent and assisted living community. Her certifications include Activity Director and an Eden Alternative associate. She loves spending time with residents, hearing about their life experiences and enjoying their company.
